Braveheart's first view of Raoul was at 6am as it appeared out of the clouds.
The four of us looked at one another - it didn't look that steep in any of the photographs they showed us!? Any reservations were quickly forgotten as the boat, accompanied by a pod of dolphins, made its way towards Fishing Rock where we were to unload.

water while we were shuttled in to land, after some quick introductions I was handed a pair of overalls and a pair of boots and set to work! A RIB shuttled goods from the boat closer to shore, a derrick then raised the goods onto land and a foxway then transported the goods up a hill to a road where a tractor was waiting to drive it to the hostel! We had about 120 fish bins, 20,000L fuel and numerous boxes of veggies to move. We didn't finish till after dark so the magnificent view from the porch had to wait to the next morning!

Damn the photo's not wanting to upload (have you resized them smaller?!?!)
ReplyDeleteSounds absolutely magic. Over here in Europe - Maaike and I am stranded by the volcano which did decide to erupt.. trusting Raoul is going to be more placid.
Good luck - and can't wait to see the pictures.
Hi Patrick! Managed to get two up!
ReplyDeleteThat will put a spanner in the works for your plans - hope you don't have too much of a delay!
